2 Peter 1:10 (KJV) 10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: The Apostle Peter encourages us to continue to grow in our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. The “these things” he speaks about should be evident in the lives of those who are born again. So are the virtues that he speaks about in 2 Peter 1:5-7 (faith, virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love) evident in your life? Continue to grow in the Lord for you have a heavenly home to gain.

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:10
